The Wildeway team is making the most of Summer 2026 by practicing what we preach: spending as much time outside as possible. Whether it’s an evening hike close to home or a weekend road trip somewhere new, we’re always looking for excuses to trade screens for fresh air and soak up a little more sunshine.

That’s exactly what Wildeway Weekends are all about.

This weekend, we packed up the car and headed a few hours north to explore two of America’s most iconic wild places: Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. From towering peaks and alpine lakes to roaming bison and steaming geysers, it was the kind of trip that reminds you why protecting these places matters.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from the weekend.

A bucket list wildlife sighting

We saw a bear!

I’ve visited Yellowstone before and live in Utah, where black bears occasionally make an appearance, but I had never seen one in the wild. This trip changed that. We watched a grizzly bear resting peacefully a few hundred yards away—a moment I’ll never forget. Along the drive, we also passed an enormous herd of bison, a reminder that these parks are still truly wild places.

The landscapes

Beyond the incredible wildlife, the scenery was just as unforgettable. Standing at Grand Prismatic Spring and watching brilliant colors rise through the steam felt almost unreal. Later, we found ourselves staring up at the towering Teton Range, wondering how mountains can look even bigger in person than they do in photos.

The night sky

One evening, we drove out to an open field and looked up. With almost no light pollution, the stars stretched from horizon to horizon. Moments like that have a way of putting everything back into perspective. They remind us to slow down, look around, and appreciate the wild places we’re lucky enough to experience.

Our trip was everything we hoped it would be. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to plan one more summer adventure, this is it. You don’t need a week off or a plane ticket—just a little time outside. Whether it’s a nearby trail, a national park, or your favorite campsite, there’s still plenty of summer left to explore.
